Check Up

So we went for a check up with the at-risk baby doctor and everything is looking good. They are growing, and show no signs of physical birth defects.

I am also growing and in need of new stretchy pants and one of those fancy belts that helps to hold up your stomach. I may only be 13 weeks along but I have twice as much fluid, baby, and weight gain as a woman with a singleton.

Growing and growing

Things are going just fine with the babies. They are using up every bit of energy and food that I can get them. Knock on wood, I have been blessed to not have morning or any kind of sickness, and the only pregnancy symptom kicking my butt is the lack of energy. But I am on the end of my 1st trimester and this should improve in a week or two.

On a side note, the weather has finally cooled down a little and has made a world of difference in how I feel. I can't wait for it to turn in cold.

We're as big as grapes

This picture is two weeks old but you get the idea - there are two babies. As of my last visit to the doctor, the babies are about 2.16 centimeters long and weigh about 1 gram. Baby A (top) is taking up most of the room while Baby B (bottom) is squished over to the side. Both have really good heartbeats and fluid surrounding them.

Today we are signing the lease to move from our current apartment into a town house. We're excited to only have one neighbor, a huge master bedroom, and two car garage. The master is so big we'll be able to fit a crib and rocker in the room and still have plenty of room for all of our things. Still lots of packing to go. Can't wait till I can pack up the Xbox controls so I don't have to see it again.

1 + 1 = twins

So not only are we pregnant but we're having twins. Got to see them for the first time this afternoon - and hear their heartbeats. It was amazing. We have more pictures to add to our growing fridge collection. They are due mid-April.

Two tests and the answer is still yes...

Blood test on Monday showed we are pregnant. Second blood test on Wednesday to test hormone levels still showed we are pregnant.

Bad Day

Today has been a rough day. The shocks in Bobby's truck are so bad that driving it around today made me nauseous. It happened driving to and from school - at one point I almost had to pull over to throw up. My stomach has been upset all day and earlier this afternoon I became dizzy and had to lay down. I don't want to get my hopes up that it's "morning sickness" - I'm just chalking it up to nerves. I have 6 days till I know for certain.

I have been cutting down my sodium intake and, just like with most restriction based diets, salty foods are all I seem to crave. This morning it was hashbrowns, lunch was something frenchfryish (yes I just made up that word) and for dinner I'm craving mashed potatoes or mac-n-cheese.

Feeling a little queasy again - must go lie down.

Waiting...

It has been 5 days since my ET and I have started to feel better. The bloating and pain from all the drugs has started to recede and I'm starting to feel semi-normal. On the day of the transfer we discovered that 2 of the 11 fertilized eggs did not mature and 2 or the remaining 9 had not grown enough to justify freezing them. The top two embryos were transferred to me and the remaining 5 will be frozen for later use.

I return on the 11th for a blood test to find out if I am indeed pregnant. I pray constantly that it will be - but I must also remember that it's not my will but God's will.
